Attachments will not come in to Smartphone.
I am running Exchange 2003 and direct pushing mail to Motorola Qs with
Windows Mobile 5 smartphone edition. EAS does not give me the option to
download attachments on the server or the phone. My users are really
complaining about this. When you view the mail on the phone, it wouldn't
apear that there is an attachment. Where am I going wrong here.

Thanks,
C Lewis

Re: Attachments will not come in to Smartphone.
Have you checked your firewall and/or antivirus software to insure its not
blocking or stripping the attachments? Do attachment come through in
Outlook?

Re: Attachments will not come in to Smartphone.
Attachments come through to Outlook and to OWA. They simply do not go to the
phones. There is no blocking by antivirus or firewall.

Thanks,
C Lewis

Re: Attachments will not come in to Smartphone.
This is very strange. I have the same phone (among others), and what I see
is that Windows Mobile phones don't give me the option to prevent bringing
an icon for the attachement. They always bring an icon, and when I click it
the attachment is downloaded.

Re: Attachments will not come in to Smartphone.
I have noticed one thing that concerns me on the setup of active sync on the
Exchange server. The sync folder is a subdirectory of the OMA folder in IIS
and in Exchange System manager. I can change it in IIS, but can't seem to
change it in System Manager. Should it be there, or could this be causing my
lack of attachments? We don't get attachments in OMA either, but I assumed
this was by design. We do attachments in Outlook and OWA.

Thanks again,
C Lewis

Re: Attachments will not come in to Smartphone.
First of all, don't change it, it is supposed to be like that.

Activesync in Exchange 2003 works through OMA.

Regarding attachments in OMA: I also cannot download them from there,
despite the fact that I see their names at the end of the message. But this
doesn't prevent me from downolading in the mobile device. So I guess there
isn't much connection between the two in this issue.
