Is it possible to sync the GAL to my smartphone (Motorola Q)? E2K7
You can't sync the GAL but you can do lookup's against the GAL then save that contact to your device. -- -- Eric Hicks [That_Kid] (MS-MVP Mobile Devices) The MS-MVP Program - http://mvp.support. microsoft.com This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights... I was bummed to hear that. What I ended up doing was opened Address Book in OL2k7 and highlighted All Users, right clicked and selected Add to Contacts, then did a sync on my "Q". All is good for now... until I add somebody else to GAL. Thanks. That should work just fine when you're sending mail - and you don't need to save the contact at all. > > Thanks. > > "Eric Hicks [MVP]" <i'm@home.with.u> wrote in message > news:uARH1UyQIHA.5988@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >> You can't sync the GAL but you can do lookup's against the GAL then >> save that contact to your device. >> >> -- >> -- >> Eric Hicks [That_Kid] (MS-MVP Mobile Devices) >> >> The MS-MVP Program - http://mvp.support. microsoft.com This posting >> is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights... >> >> "Penny Miller" wrote in message >> news:B77E6271-E140-43BE-AE18-6896BD97EBF5@microsoft.com... >>> Is it possible to sync the GAL to my smartphone (Motorola Q)? >>> >>> E2K7
We have users that like to be able to call colleagues at work and can't remember their extension so this way they can just type in their name and it pops up. All is good for now... until I add somebody else to GAL. That's nothing compared to what would happen if you tried to sync a GAL with tens of thousands of individuals in it! -- Rich Matheisen MCSE+I, Exchange MVP MS Exchange FAQ at http://www.swinc.com/resource/exch_faq.htm Don't send mail to this address mailto:h.pott@getronics.com Or to these, either: mailto:h.pott@pinkroccade.com mailto:melvin.mcphucknuckle@getronics.com mailto:melvin.mcphucknuckle@pinkroccade.com

I can't see why the GAL lookup wouldn't do the job in this case. It is much better than carrying all the company contacts in your private phonebook. This looks like a terrible option to me..... -- ---- Helio Diamant MS-MVP/Mobile Devices Editor - PocketPCFreak.com "Penny Miller" wrote in message news:CE7EE49F-1B82-4C5A-A55B-95BB1FA4A92B@microsoft.com... > We have users that like to be able to call colleagues at work and can't > remember their extension so this way they can just type in their name and > it pops up. > > "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" > wrote in > message news:eDq2JuzQIHA.5980@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... >> Penny Miller wrote: >>> I was bummed to hear that. >>> >>> What I ended up doing was opened Address Book in OL2k7 and >>> highlighted All Users, right clicked and selected Add to Contacts, >>> then did a sync on my "Q".
