Cannot sync T-Mobile MDA with Exchange 2003 Server . . . at wits end!
I have a user at our company who recently received a T-Mobile MDA that we
have had all sorts of problems with trying to get ActiveSync to work with it
and our Exchange Server.

The server is Exchange 2003 SP2, and it is running on Windows 2000 Server
SP4.

When I try to run the sync on the MDA, I continually get the 85010014 error.
I think I've read just about every doc there is to read in the Microsoft
Knowledgebase, and I've read numerous other docs on this matter, none of
which seem to be helping, and the user, one of our VPs, is obviously as
frustrated as I am that he can't access his e-mail with ActiveSync on the
MDA.

I've tried setting up the server to use and not use SSL. I've tried
everything that's ever been shown to me in a doc or white paper. Nothing so
far has worked.

T-Mobile's support has been no help either. I've been escalated to 3rd- and
4th-level techs, and they're clueless. The last tech I spoke to told me, "I
don't know what to tell you, it works for me!"

Is there anyone who can help me with detailed instructions on what I might
be doing wrong? Is it the fact the server is Win2K and not Windows 2003?
Is there a problem with MDAs and ActiveSync? Any and all help would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Re: Cannot sync T-Mobile MDA with Exchange 2003 Server . . . at wits end!
I would first suggest, definitely use SSL with Activesync. First question I
have, does OMA work on the MDA? What errors on the Exchange Event
Application Log are you getting, if any, after trying a Sync? Have you
tried a Hard Reset on the phone itself?
