activesync on exchange
Do I need to install some form of activesync on my exchange 2003 server? I
am having a hell of a time getting a treo 700 to sync to the server?

If there is a "special" version of activesync where can I download it from.

Thanks
Paul

Re: activesync on exchange
No, do you have Exchange SP2 installed on your server? What happens when
you sync Treo 700? Have you enabled SSL? What errors?

Re: activesync on exchange
Hello John

I have SP2 installed and SSL is enabled. I have copied the certificate to
the Tero. When I go and config the active sync connection for our exchange
server I get the following error...

"You cannot log on the Microsoft Exchange Server because the security
certificate on the server is not valid or expired. Click Retry to change
server......"

The cert is not expired.
I used DER encoded binary x.509 when I exported the cert.
I am currently strying to sync to exchange via USB on my laptop.
I have done "Method 2" from MS KB 817379

Thanks
Paul

Re: activesync on exchange
Check the date on the Treo. If the date is incorect you will get that
error. If that doesn't fix it then check and make sure your cert is valid.

Re: activesync on exchange
Time is correct.
How do you check to see if a cert is valid?
The cert is good until 2008. The cert is one I created in exchange.

Thanks

Re: activesync on exchange
One way is to access OWA from the device and see if you're prompted to
accept the certificate or if you're presented with any.

Re: activesync on exchange
Hi
I had similar problems with our own MS Certification.
I copied my untrusted Cert as a File to the TREO. On the TREO you browse to
the Cert and double click on it to import it to the trusted Certs. After
that it worked without a problem.

Cheers
Roman
