Treo700w exchange Push email problem
Hi,

I have updated my exchange to sp2 and installed the ROM update for the Treo,
however I'm having trouble getting the device to provide the PING process,
as I keep on getting 401 (unathorized errors), I saw this using the logging
option of ActiveSync. However when doing a manual sync it syncs properly, I
could see in the log that when trying the first time to sync (when doing
manually) it also gets the 401 error but it seems that AS by itself tries
again to sync even when it gets this error and on the next (internal call)
it properly syncs, which means that the username\pass is ok. Please note I'm
using basic authentication without certificates and the server dosn't
require SSL.

Thanks in advance for your help

Exchange Activesync without SSL is a huge security risk I must first say. I
would strongly recommend getting a Root Cert from Comodo or Network
Solutions, they are inexpensive and no additional install of certs is
required on your mobile devices. As for the error, have you tried hard
reset on the device? Does this happen with any other Treo 700w's?

Re: Treo700w exchange Push email problem
Thanks John,

I did try a H-Reset it didn't help however, but I'll follow your advice
first and install a certificate and see if this solves the issue.

Best Regards,
Shloma
