Exchange OMA 401.1 and 500 web errors, 30% of time failures.
Hi

I have two sets of problems. 1) unexplained errors in my logs. 2) some
users get 8500014 errors about 30% of the time.

1) I am seeing 401.1 errors in my weblogs which are followed by 207
connection lines. The first attempt to connect to OMA fails and I
noticed it is not sending a username. Right after the failure a
connection is made again this time it sends the username correctly. Can
someone help me figure out why it is failing the first time?

Example 401.1 / 207
2006-05-04 00:03:32 192.168.1.5 SEARCH

/Exchange-OMA_ActiveSync/username@domain.com/ - 80 DOMAIN\username
192.168.1.5 Microsoft-Server-ActiveSync/6.5.7638.1 207 0 0

2) I am getting 500 errors in my weblogs and 3005 errors in the event
logs. Even with these errors half of my users on OMA are working
correctly and don't notice any issues from their WM 5.0 clients. The
other two users don't get mail about 30% of the time, they see a
8500014 error.

Re: Exchange OMA 401.1 and 500 web errors, 30% of time failures.
Updated info--

I've found that all my users are getting the 8500014 errors on the
phones. The half that aren't seeing the errors are set to download mail
every 10 minutes, the half that do see the error are set to 'as it
arrives'. WM 5.0 is just rescheduling failed connections in the
background when it is set download every 10 minutes so the errors never
show up on the screens. Just in the ctrl log file.

Here is one of these events as viewed from the WM 5.0 device (Cingular
