MSExchangeOMA
I am trying to configure OMA for the boss' new HP iPAQ hw6515 mobile phone
from Cingular. I tried testing the OMA by opening IE on my desktop and
entering the address of https://server-name/oma. It asks me for my username
& password then the next page I see says "There is a configuration issue
with Outlook(R) Mobile Access. Please contact your administrator." On the
Exchange server I get the following Event Viewer entry:

Event Type: Error
Event Source: MSExchangeOMA
Event Category: (1000)
Event ID: 1511
Date: 4/20/2006
Time: 4:38:16 PM
User: N/A
Computer: Server1
Description:
Reading the Internet Information Services metabase for the Microsoft(R)
Exchange default domain at node /LM/W3SVC/1/root/OMA failed with
error -2147024891

Also, I noticed that the IIS manager has a red stop sign next to the Public,
Exchange & Exadmin folders.

Our server setup is as follows:
    Windows 2000 domain
Exchange 2003 installed on Windows 2000 Domain Controller (IIS 5)
ISA 2004 installed on a Windows 2003 member server

I came across the Microsoft support article #883380 "How to reset the
default directories...." but that is for people who have Exchange 2003
installed on a Windows 2003 server using IIS 6.0

I Google the error above and came across a posting that said to reset the
metabase by running aspnet_regiis.exe -i. But that didn't help.

Also, our OWA works fine.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Marty

Re: MSExchangeOMA
I suspect you haven't enabled OMA in Exchange System Manager at the global
level. Open Global Settings and choose properties of Mobile Services. On
the General tab you'll need to ensure that "Enable Outlook Mobile Access" is
checked.

If that is checked, use AD&UC to open the properties of the user and ensure
that they have OMA enabled as an individual.

Re: MSExchangeOMA
Thanks for the reply Jon.

Mobile services are enabled in the Exchange System Manager and the AD Users.
Any other thoughts?
