I just installed Exchange 2003 server and seem to be having outgoing mail routing issues though the tracking tool verifies that messages are being sent to my ISP's mail server for delivery. I can receive mail just fine but when I go to send mail I see it leave the queue and the tracking utility says it has been sent to our ISP's mail server but they have no record of the messages on their end. Could I be getting a false tracking report? If I change the port number to something I know will not work, the messages remain in the queue and never send. I also have journaling enabled and I do receive a copy of the message in the administrator mailbox - though it never reaches the final recipient. Is this more of a routing issue? Thanks in advance, -rick- -- Technonolgy can be a dangerous thing
- Look at SMTP log as well Logging SMTP protocol activity http://exchangepedia.com/blog/2006/09/logging-smtp-protocol-activity.html - Generally, Message Tracking and SMTP logs will provide the necessary information., However, if both indicate messages being delivered to ISP and ISP has no record of it, the next step would be to capture packets and look at the network traffic between your server and the ISP's host. -- Bharat Suneja Microsoft Corporation blog: exchangepedia.com/blog This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
