no changes were made to the SBS Exchange 2003. suddenly all traffic stopped. Outlook and OWA clients are connecting to server but the server will not send to mail accounts even when they are on the same mail server? items are stuck in outboxes. inbound mail not arriving. test smtp message from spam appliance says connection refused at server. nothing stands out in event vwr, and restarting services and server did nothing any input is deeply apreciated
Hi, Is the mailbox database mounted? There should be some events in the application log telling you what the problem is Leif "totoro" skrev i meddelelsen news:549E69C0-37FE-480D-BFB0-5C99CDAF2BDA@microsoft.com... > no changes were made to the SBS Exchange 2003. suddenly all traffic > stopped. > > Outlook and OWA clients are connecting to server but the server will not > send to mail accounts even when they are on the same mail server? > > items are stuck in outboxes. inbound mail not arriving. > test smtp message from spam appliance says connection refused at server. > > nothing stands out in event vwr, and restarting services and server did > nothing > > any input is deeply apreciated
yes the db was mounted. found out the smtp protocal stopped. so I restarted it and was OK. I would assume it would restart when I restarted the server or the Exchange INfo Store but I guess not. but I never saw that happen before i.e. the smtp just stop by itself, while every thing else kept chugging along. any thoughts on what could trigger that? thanks for the input!
