smtp connector question
How can I tell which connector is being used to route a particular mail? I
inherited a server and there are two with the address space set to * and a
cost of 1 and I'm trying to figure out which one is being used... Oh and
it's Exchange 2003.

Thanks!
Jerry

RE: smtp connector question
Hi
this is not enough information to tell you for sure wich route is used.
If you only have one server with two connectors mail is load balanced
between them. Exchange 2003 loads balances between connectors with the same
costs (other then Exchange 2007!)

if you have for example two mailbox servers and both have the connectors as
local bridgeheads configured then it depends wich mailbox is sending a mail.
in this case the local connector is used.

The following link points to a document that contains arouting path
selection process.

Re: smtp connector question
It's the first situation - just one server. Seems like there should be a
way to tell which connector a particular message used.
