Sync Mobile 6 with Exchange Not working
I’m not able to Sync a Motorola Q9c Windows Mobile 6 phone with a Windows SBS
2003 Exchange Server Standard edition to get email. I keep getting prompts
for the user password on the device. I checked the server security log and
there are several 529 events, invalid user name or password.

The server has Service Pack 2 appliedfor both windows SBS 2003 and Exchange.
I have installed the third party server’s certificate on the mobile device. I
have checked the firewall settings on the client computer and they are
correct. The phone can retrieve email by remoting in through the Internet
using OWA (mail.domain.com/exchange). Any suggestions?

Since you use SBS, you need to run wizards for nearly everything. Run the
CEICW and make sure that Outlook mobile access is enabled. Also, ensure that
you can access OWA work with SSL from outside your network.

Note that SBS questions are best posted in
microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs, even if you also *crosspost* to the
non-SBS groups. .... you'll get the most expert eyes on your post that way.

Re: Sync Mobile 6 with Exchange Not working
I posted int SBS newsgroups.

I reinstalled Activesync 4.5. I reset the phone. But when I entered
configuration information for setup I get this message. "Microsoft Exchange
did not accept your login credentials click retry to enter your credentials
again or click continue to sync with smartphone anyway."

I've checked the exchange server setup for mobile set up. It is correct. I
checked the user permissions and they are authorized for mobile. The user can
remote in using OWA from the Smartphone.

Ah. Well, crosspost instead of multiposting - if you need to post to
multiple groups, it's best to crosspost instead, by posting a single message
to a handful of relevant groups (separate the NG names with commas) so that
everyone can follow the thread. Multiposting wastes everyone's time,
including yours, and may lead to your actually getting *less* help rather
than more.

This isn't generally necessary.

You didn't answer my other question or mention whether you'd re-run the
CEICW as I suggestd.
