Overwrite Exchange database?
Hi,

I'm having grief with Windows Server 2008 and Exchange - current problem is
Windows Server 2008 is stuck at 0% of Configuring updates, and I have my
doubts it will ever run again.

I have managed to copy the entire Exchange Server folder from Program
Files\Microsoft to another drive, and am attempting to dcpromo another
machine to be the global catalogue server if I can.

If I can do the above, and I complete reformat and rebuild the server, can I
(after reinstalling Exchange 2007) simply "copy" back the database? I have
no other backups available.

Probably best to fix your Windows installation. Try forcing a shutdown
and restart. It's never a good idea to declare "sky falling" on the
application because the os is acting up.
I don't suppose you even want to hear the old "did you back up before
doing the updates" routine.
