Exchange Web Access
Hello all,
After changing the IIS default web I can't access my <domain>/Exchange web.
I think I lost my default content page or something. Can any one tell me
what should be in the default content page in the IIS config for the
Exchange and the ExchWeb?
Would appreciate any other Exchange/ExchWeb config settings you think I
might check. Just in case.

Echange web access worked fine before.
Now as soon and you type you id/password you get the Can not display the web
page error. :(

Thanks,
John

Re: Exchange Web Access
What exactly did you change in the default website?

Re: Exchange Web Access
In the properties of Default Web Site I changed the description and the SSL
port was empty so I changed that to 443.

Re: Exchange Web Access
PS:
I also changed the Default Content Page for the default web. That's why I'm
thinking that trickled down and if I can put the right page back for that it
should work. I do recall a dialog with a list of sub webs that it could
affect, BUT I did NOT select any.

Re: Exchange Web Access
New discovery. In the Directory Security tab.
If I remove Intergrated Windows Authentication and just leave the Basic
Authentication it works. Does that help anyone with ideas as to what has
changed?

Re: Exchange Web Access
Enable Logging on the default website to see if it gives you any further
detail.

Re: Exchange Web Access
Thank John, I'll give that a go.
Do you know if this will interfere with the actual Exchange? Can this be
done without killing Exchange and it's regular users?

Re: Exchange Web Access
Yes.
Found that if I got to http://<servername>/exchange it works. But not if I
use "localhost" or the IP or the actual link we always use mail.......
I installed Exchange on a junk server to compare. Baring the usual
differences like server name... all is identical.

Re: Exchange Web Access
So this could be a DNS issue. Have you verified your DNS records to insure
they are correct?

Re: Exchange Web Access
Yes I have.
Still seem like security to me. If I uncheck Intergrated Windows
Authenticate and just leave the check on Basic Authentication it goes right
in.
