I am in the planning phase of an E5.5 to E2k3 migration. Here is my scenario and question. Scenario: Main Site Single E5.5 Site Server A (E5.5 on WinNT4 - most of the mailboxes are here) Server B (E5.5 on W2K - just pop3 mailboxes are here only a few) Both servers are in the NJ.COM domain with my main W2K DC Remote Sites are in different domains (child to nj.com example: az.nj.com, mx.nj.com, ca.nj.com) In the remote sites I have W2K DC's. I will be working in the main site installing a seperate W2K3 DC which will run the ADC. Question: How do I set up a single connection agreement to sync with all the remote domains? Please let me know if you need more information. I really appreciate any advice you could give. Thanks in advance!
I don't believe you can. I would recommend that you install a separate W2K3 DC in your main site for each domain. You could use Virtual Server or VMware if server load won't be a problem to reduce hardware cost. -- Ed Crowley MVP - Exchange "Protecting the world from PSTs and brick backups!" Thanks for the reply. I am really confused now. I have read the understanding and deploying Exchange ADC doc. It said that you can have a single CA for mulitple domains. Does that mean that I would have mulitple CA's for each domain? Remember the I am in the parent domain, there are transitive trusts between them and the child domains. The E5.5 server is also in the parent domain, so everything is local to me except the remote DC's. Please tell me there is another way.... Thanks for your assistance. By the way is the ADC for Exchange 2003 Sp1 supported by MS?? "Ed Crowley [MVP]" wrote: > I don't believe you can. I'm sorry if I confused you. You can install one ADC service and separate CAs for each domain. Each CA has to talk to a domain controller in the domain you're connecting to, and I would consider it preferable if the DC is more or less local to the ADC server. That's why I recommend that you build a DC for each remote domain close network-wise to the ADC server so you're not doing gobs of LDAP queries across a slow WAN link. -- Ed Crowley MVP - Exchange "Protecting the world from PSTs and brick backups!"
