Exchange 2003 Priv1.edb File size
Client of mine is running SBS 2003. The Priv1.edb file is @ 10GB in size. I
know that there is a limit of 16GB. Before the file gets close to that size
I want to reduce it. Just wanted to make sure that running the offline
defrag was the best\only way to go in order to reduce filei size. I just
need to reduce the priv, pub is fine in size.
Thanks in advance

Re: Exchange 2003 Priv1.edb File size
With Exchange 2003 SP2 you can up the limit to 75GB. If this approach is not
wanted and consolidation is the only option then yes an offline defrag is
your only option of reducing the store size - providing there's sufficient
over population of whitespace within the database. This can be checked by
looking for Event ID 1221 in the App Log after Online Maintenance has
passed.
