SPF Record
Hi,

We are running into issues with people spoofing our email addresses. I
understand that one way to protect ourselves, is to implement SPF on our
external DNS host.

Wondering if anyone can share their experience in implementing, plus any
potential pitfalls we should be aware of.

I have used the Microsoft Wizard to generate the correct TXT items. I
assume that the IP I want to allow is our External IP address, as recorded in
the MX record, and not the Internal address of the Exchange Server.

Other then that, it looks easy....but want to make sure I am not missing
anything.

Thanks,

Re: SPF Record
You are right in that SPF is an additional way of proving who you are and
where your mail should come from. On the flip side there isn't a huge # of
people actually taking action on SPF lookups right now. This means that even
if you go through the trouble to set it up, a lot of people won't bother
either looking for it. Hopefully this will change soon.

You might notice a small improvement, but not enough people are using SPF to
make a huge difference yet.
