I am running 2003 server and 2003 exchange server. Everything is setup and I am new to this so please forgive my ignorance. What is the default name for POP3 and SMTP servers on 2003? Is it something like POP3 mail.exchangeservername.com SMTP mail.exchangeservername.com. Or am I headed down the wrong path? Thanks, Lostone
You're headed down the wrong path. The name is the servername. You're welcome to add DNS CNAME entries that points pop.companyname.com or mail.companyname.com to your server name, but Exchange doesn't add anything like you're thinking to DNS. -- Ed Crowley MVP - Exchange "Protecting the world from PSTs and brick backups!" Have your remote users use RPC over HTTP or OWA. Have everyone use Outlook 2003 or 2007 and access their mailboxes directly.
