How to Migrate from IPlanet to Exchange 2007
Good Afternoon Community,

I want to migrate IPlanet mail system to Exchange 2007 server.
What are my options?

This is at Planning stage, I did not see any third party tools.

Re: How to Migrate from IPlanet to Exchange 2007
In thend, it's really a sendmail to Exchange migration. There a lots of
ways to do this. WHat do you wish to migrate? Acconts, email on the
server, email that is stored on clients, etc.? First define what it is
that you plan to migrate.

Re: How to Migrate from IPlanet to Exchange 2007
At its most basic level, you need to import directory entries from an LDAP
directory and import the mail via POP3 or IMAP. The mailmig utility from
Exchange 2003 can do this and I have used it before. You can also just
import the directory, then script from the unix side to forward all mail
with unread headers.

The problems start when you begin to dig deeper into content. Will you
migrate calendars? Do you expect rules to migrate?

Re: How to Migrate from IPlanet to Exchange 2007
Yes, we are planning to migrate calander items as well.

Is there any sample of scripts that you know of, since we are non profit
organization, we do not have resources of such capabilities.

Thanks

Re: How to Migrate from IPlanet to Exchange 2007
Unfortunately, the calendars are the worst part. I think Andy Webb might
have something to say on that subject.
