RPC over HTTPS Single-Server Deployment (SBS2003)
Hello,

I currently have Small Business Server 2003 w/Exchange 2003 SP2 configured as a single-server RPC over HTTPS server. It was deployed over a year ago and is working as expected. The issue I have is with a new Exchange server that was added to the environment. It is Windows Server 2003 Std. (Domain Controller/Global Catalog/Exchange 2003 SP2). RPC over HTTPS only works if the mailbox resides on the SBS2003 server. As soon as I move the mailbox to the new Exchange server, the connection fails within Outlook. I do receive a logon prompt when I launch Outlook, and it appears that the Exchange server it is trying to connect is the right one, but never connects.

The only thing I've done was enable the new Exchange server for RPC over HTTPS as a back-end server.

Are there any other settings that need to be added/changes in order for it to work.

Please ask if there is additional information missing in this post.

Thanks.

Adding New Exchange to Existing RPC over HTTP Environment
Solution that worked for me. Modify the ValidPorts file in the following registry key on the RPC over HTTP Proxy Server:

HKLM\Software\Microsoft\RPC\RPCProxy

Copied the existing string and pasted it at the tail end, then replacing the server name with the name of the new Exchange server. Didn't have to reboot either.
