Hi there, I have installed E2K7 Evaluation version and SP1, not successfully, on my machine with win2k3 SP2. When I was installing E2K7 SP1, it installed all things except the last one and showed an error. Then When I restarted the sytem I am not able to start any of the services of E2K7 bcoz their corresponding exe files are not present in the bin folder of E2K7 installation folder. When I try to run the installer of E2K7 SP1 it shows me the error message The Exchange Server is in an inconsistent state. Only disaster recovery mode is available. Now I can do nothing with my new E2K7 installation. How to correct this error ? best regards, -- Cyber Friend
Hi there, Can you give any more information from Event Viewer? It looks as if your SP1 upgrade has caused issues. You may need to re-install Exchange using the /recoverserver parameter. This is performed from the cmd prompt and in the directory where you Exchange installation files are (unless you have mapped the directory to system). setup.com /m:recoverserver Here's a good article: http://www.msexchange.org/tutorials/Recovering-Exchange-2007-Server-RecoverServer-switch.html Oliver
Also note, you do not need to install the RTM version of Exchange 2007 then apply SP1. You can just use the SP1 download, this is a complete Exchange 2007 product. Oliver
Hi there, Thanx Oliver for your replies but I have reinstalled Windows and E2K7 as I was not even able to uninstall the corrupt installation of E2K7. This all happened bcoz I skipped the step "Configure DNS" when running "DCPROMO". This error "The Exchange Server is in an inconsistent state" occurs when DNS is not configured properly for E2K7. Now I have succesfully installed E2K7 and SP1. >>You can just use the SP1 download, this is a complete Exchange 2007 product. OK, this is new thing for me, next time I will use SP1 ot install E2K7. thanx for your time Oliver. best regards, -- Cyber Friend "Oliver Moazzezi [MVP]" wrote: > Also note, you do not need to install the RTM version of Exchange 2007 then > apply SP1. > > You can just use the SP1 download, this is a complete Exchange 2007 product. > > Oliver > > >
