can we run dpm2007 in parallel with vss and hitachi protection manager
We are considering using DPM to replace our existing Hitachi Protection Manager (for Exchange) VSS snapshot architecture. We don’t have a full test environment set up that can mirror our production environment.

Will the underlying VSS architecture in Windows 2003 have any problems with having multiple VSS products installed? We’d like to install DPM concurrently with our Hitachi setup and run the DPM snaps during the day for testing and then run our normal Hitachi snaps at night until we’re ready to transition to DPM.

Is this going to cause problems? I’m not very familiar with the inner workings of VSS, where volume bitmaps are stored, etc so we’re looking for advice before proceeding.

Any additional information you can provide would be very helpful.
