Exchange HA - CCR or SCR
I am designing an Exchange 2007 solution and the customer is planning on
using Windows Server 2008. They require HA and DR, therefore, should I
recommend CCR and place 1st node in Main DC and 2nd in DR DC or should I
stick with SCC on the main site and SCR for DR. They have 4000 users,
expect to see 40 databases and there is a 45mbs pipe between the two sites.
Based on some MS best practices, when SP1 was released CCR across multiple
sites was discouraged and SCR was the alternative. So what are the best
practice these days if using Windows Server 2008. I am still hearing use
SCR.

CCR is not DR
SCC is not DR
SCR is not HA.
Understand what the products are designed for and recommend the one
most suitable to the business. I suggest you hire a consultant to
advise you on the design you are preparing.

Re: Exchange HA - CCR or SCR
For HA, use SCC or CCR within the site. For DR, use SCR between sites. Use
the appropriate technolgy to achive the goal.
