Exch 2003 & Exch 2007 coexistance
Hello freinds,
we presently have win 2003 domain with exch 2003. we are planning to
install a new exchange 2007 server in our domain. The idea is to utilize the
benefits of exch 2007 (unified comm.) so once this server is online, we will
move all our mailboxes within certain period of time (let say within 1 month)
to exch 2007, which means for the specifed duration we will have 2 exch
servers exisitng in our domain.
My question is that, is it possible to have exch 2003 and exch 2007
coexisting in the same domain ???? and any external mails still flowing
through exch 2003 as how it is now (in our case) ???
Looking forward to your inputs. let me know if more clarification is needed.

Regards
BurhanM

Exchange 2003 and 2007 are designed to sit perfectly together. The
2007 setup creates the necessary connectors between the two so that
messages flow properly.

This is good news!

And... the next question...

How difficult is it to decommission the Exchange 2003 server? After I knock
the training wheels off, can I easily get rid of 2003?

Re: Exch 2003 & Exch 2007 coexistance
Yes, there is connectivity between 2007 and Notes. If you had
GroupWise or something from the M Mouse email emporium then you'd need
to retain the 2003 infrastructure.
