Hi, We are implementing a CCR cluster with one active and one passive node. I need to ask another team to define and preset the network names following or naming conventions and have this ready in a design document before implementation. I hope this doesn't sound like a dumb question. Can someone please confirm that that I need to define a separate Network name and IP for the Cluster Server and another different Network Name and IP address for the Cluster Mailbox Server. The first time I came across that I would need 2 names defined for the cluster besides the 2 Nodes was in a technet prep document for CCR refer to http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb885051(EXCHG.80).aspx Thanks, AJ
Yes, the Cluster Group needs its own Network Name and IP address. The CMS (equivalent of the Exchange Virtual Server or EVS in Exchange Server 2003/2000) needs its own Network Name and IP address. -- Bharat Suneja Microsoft Corporation ------------------------ This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. Note: unlike Exchange 2003 clustering, you actually specify the IP and CMS name of the CCR (or SCC for that matter) cluster during the installation of the Active Mailbox Role. Oliver
Thanks Bharat and Oliver for your qucik responses and advice. Much Appreciated I am on the right track now.
