Exchange 2003 migration to Exchange 2007 in a second site
I am getting ready to migrate our current Exchange 2003 system to Exchange
2007 system. Our current system is composed of one Front-End server and 2
Back-End servers, all running Exchange 2003 sp2 in our main office. Email to
and from the Internet is taken care by our connection to the Frontbridge
services.
I did performed a migration to Exchange 2007 in a test lab and it seems to
be ok, in one sigle site.
Upper management has decided to deploy the new Exchange 2007 servers on our
new Data Center site, and my questions is if this would be a workable
solution:
Exchange 2003 system on our main office and Exchange 2007 system on our Data
Center integrated in one organization. The Exchange 2003 system will be phase
out once all the mail accounts are migrated to the new Exchange system.
My big question is, will the OWA settings from Exchange 203 carry over to
the new Exchange 2007 CAS server even though they are in different sites??
Will the Exchange 2003 bridgehead server show up as an option when I install
the mailbox role on Exchange 2007 ??
If the answer to the questions is yes, then I will run both systems for at
least a month so the we can migrate the mailboxes to the new servers and
replicate the public folders.

Thank you in advance for your suggestions.

RE: Exchange 2003 migration to Exchange 2007 in a second site
Hi
you should look for all CAS features that have "internalURL" and
"externalURL" settings. In some cases it is site dependend. (ActiveSync)
