Reconfig of harddisks
Hello All,

I am planning to re-size my hard drives, currenyly i have the OS on C:
Database on D:
Logs on E:

The C: and the E: drive are on a Raid1 mirror and the D: drive is on Raid 5.
Now we have bought higher capacity disks and want to replace all of the 3
disks, can anyone advise me on a good plan.

My Solution:
Take valid backup of exchange (Exchange 2003 sp2)
Move the logs from E: to D:
Replace the C: and the E: with new disks
Install the ghost image of the Operating system back on C: (Win 2003 Ent)
Move the logs back to the new E: drive
Replace the D drive with new disk
Install exchange with a /disasterrecovery switch
Restore exchange information from backup.

Is this good enough or i can do this in a better way
Thankx in advance

Re: Reconfig of harddisks
Hi,
I must confess the once I did something similar with an Exchange Server. I
don't think it's a supported operation, but it works.
Since you'll keep the OS drive, you don't need to run setup
/disasterrecovery.

You're not even swapping drive letters, so it will just work after you're
finished cloning disk C.
Just be sure to do a clean shutdown of the Exchange Services and switch them
to Manual (you can switch them back to Automatic afterwards)

Good luck!
