Hi guys We have a brand new server that will be a dedicated Exchange 2003 server and have a few questions regarding partitions. Our current setup is we run a Linux box as DHCP/DNS server and firewall, a Windows 2003 SP2 box that runs AD (100 + users) and also our current Exchange 2003 SP2 server and the new bxo that will be dedicated to Exchange. I have read that you need to run Exchange on a dedicated partition, the databases on another, the logs on a 3rd and SMTP queues on a fourth. The new server has 138GB disk space. Can anyone suggest sizes for the 4 partitions? Thanks TJ
Running on different logical partitions of the same volume doesn't buy you much. The recommendation is to locate the Exchange Store(s) and Transaction Logs on different volumes for better performance and disaster recovery. -- Bharat Suneja MVP - Exchange www.zenprise.com NEW blog location: exchangepedia.com/blog ---------------------------------------------- "TJ" wrote in message news:O8jNlmiQIHA.2376@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... > Hi guys > > We have a brand new server that will be a dedicated Exchange 2003 server > and have a few questions regarding partitions.
