exchange/ad topology issue
I have an issue here that I think I know the solution, but wanted to run it
by all of you for an suggestions or concerns.

Here is what I inherited:

2 physical sites, we'll call it Site1 and Site2

In Site1 resides 2 Windows 2003 DC's
In Site2 resides 2 Windows 2003 DC's and 1 Exchange 2003 Server

In AD, Site1 exists with all 5 servers in it.

Problem:
Exchange Server is using all 4 DC's/GC's. We have had a couple instances
where the tunnel between Site1 and Site2 went down (separate issue) and
Exchange complained because it couldn't contact those servers.

Solution:
Create a second site in AD called Site2, move the 2 DC's and the Exchange
server into Site2 so that it only uses the DC's at that location.

Am I on the right track with this?
If so, is there anything I should need to know in advance when this is done?

I got a lot of experience/knowledge of AD/Exchange but not so much with
multiple sites.

Re: exchange/ad topology issue
Make sure the subnets are defined and associated with the correct AD Sites.

Re: Groupwise to Exchange 2007
One way purchase third party since Groupwise Migration Tool was discontinued
in Exchange 2007. http://www.quest.com/groupwise-migrator-for-exchange/.
Other way without purchasing Quest's tool is install Exchange 2003 Server
before your migration to Exchange 2007, Exchange 2003 does have the Exchange
Migration Wizard for Groupwise,
https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb124665.aspx.
