Strategy for redirecting mail traffic (E2K3 SP2)
Hello,

We are looking to have mail traffic to-and-from one of our main vendors
bypass the internet and go through a private link. The link is already set
up and we pass non-SMTP traffic back and forth all the time, but given some
issues we've had, we'd like to just bypass the internet all together for
SMTP.

Using E2K3, what would be the best way to accomplish this? Given that we
currently make use of a DNS MX record over the internet, would there need to
be anything set up DNS-wise? Also, what would need to be set up in ESM to
facilitate this?

Thanks!

I'd look into creating a new routing group connector. You can then set
it up to deliver mail for the domain you want to redirect. Set this
domain up in the address space tab. Set up the IP address in the smart
host field on the general tab as the IP for the mail server across the
point-to-point connection.

Give this a try and let me know how it works for you.

Thanks,

Rick
