Restoring mailboxes to a standby server.
Hi all,

I need some advise on a procedure i want to test.

I am perfomring a test disater recovery situation and our exchange
environment wil be isolated from the main network.

I am looking at restoring the data from tape to the DR server and then
allowing users to connect and test the DR server for general email
functionality.

Once the test is finished the DR server will have all have all the
mailboxes deleted and then the production servers will be brought back
on-line.

Can anyone help me with the following questions.

Is this possible ?
is there any writen procedures for something like this.
What is the quickest way to delete all the mailboxes on the DR server.

Any help wil be great.

Thanks

Re: Restoring mailboxes to a standby server.
Absolutely, article goes over this in detail.

"Microsoft® Exchange Server mailbox databases are portable between
servers that are running the same version of Exchange and that are in
the same administrative group. A mailbox database created on one
server in an administrative group can be renamed or copied to a
different storage group on the same server or to a different server in
the same administrative group. After this renaming or copying has been
done, the links between user accounts and mailboxes must be
reconfigured."

Group
