Re: Questions about MX Record for E2K3
1. You can name it whatever you want doesn't need to be mail, it's
just a name
2. You can get issues with domains that perform HELO lookups of
forward lookups. All you need to do is change the FQDN to
e2k3.mycompany.com in your smtp vs.
1. Open Exchagne System Manager. Navigate to Administrative Groups,
Site, Servers, Servername, Protocols, SMTP, Default SMTP Virtual
Server,
2. Highlight Default SMTP Virtual Server, right click properties.
3. Go to the Delivery Tab, and click Advanced Button.
4. In the "Fully-qualified domain name: field, enter your fully
qualified external domain name. Click Check DNS to verify that it
resolves.
5. Restart SMTP service.

Re: Questions about MX Record for E2K3
James, thanks for all your help, here is another question if you don't mind
me asking. With firewall in place is it not secure to have your E2K3 Server
name listed? Meaning my E2K3 server name is E2K3 and I will register E2K3
as the server name won't that all users to see what my name is and cause
them to possibility to attack it?
I was thinking if I can have someone like mail.mycompany.com somehow map to
E2K3.mycompany.com? I hope you know what I mean. Thanks again for your
assistance.
