If you mean IIFP by GALSync utility, then yes this is an option. You
will have to setup SQL Server and IIFP on an Windows Enterprise Server
and setup the GALSync according to your needs. Hopefully you can sync
one to one, meaning there is no need to change attributes like
displayName, ... IIFP will synchronize all recipients as contacts into
the other directory, so will see an world icon in front of these
addresses and cannot resolve memberships of distribution groups. In
many cases, like the one described or if you require any form of
reporting on the changes for maintainance purposes, you will have to
start up VStudio.NET and develop your own Extension.
There are also other Synchronization services around, like HP LDSU or
SimpleSync and or course, you can also develop your own app.
We have found most solutions to be either to expensive or too
complicated in setup, configuration and maintainance, and have
developed our own service ADSynch Light (http://www.visioningPro.com).
Please, have a look at it, and if interested, we gladly will send you
an evaluation version and support you in setting up the GAL
Synchronization according to your requirements.
