I'm new to exchange so please excuse the ignorance. With Groupwise email I was able to view the running SMTP server screen on the server. Is there a way to watch the active SMTP conncetions with echange 2003 on SBS 2003 SP1? Thanks in advance.
Exchange System Manager - Administrative Groups - [First Admin Group or your admin group name] - Servers - [Server Name] - Protocol - SMTP - Default SMTP Virtual Server - Current Sessions "Cyclops" wrote in message news:OwAntdqlIHA.3876@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > I'm new to exchange so please excuse the ignorance. > With Groupwise email I was able to view the running SMTP server screen on > the server. Will this show the helo/ehlo comands and all following comands until the connections end? No. You'll have to enable SMTP logging to see that. Look at the properties of Default SMTP Virtual Server. Check "Enable Logging". The log files are stored in (default location) C:\WINDOWS\System32\LogFiles\SMTPSVC1 "Cyclops" wrote in message news:%23ZsX%23vqlIHA.1184@TK2MSFTNGP04.phx.gbl... > Will this show the helo/ehlo comands and all following comands until the > connections end? > > "John" <a> wrote in message news:uGgMnkqlIHA.464@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >> Exchange System Manager >> - Administrative Groups >> - [First Admin Group or your admin group name] >> - Servers >> - [Server Name] >> - Protocol >> - SMTP >> - Default SMTP Virtual Server >> - Current Sessions >> >> "Cyclops" wrote in message >> news:OwAntdqlIHA.3876@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... >>> I'm new to exchange so please excuse the ignorance. >>> With Groupwise email I was able to view the running SMTP server screen >>> on the server. Almost what I wanted! Groupwise has a the GroupWise Internet Agent screen where you can watch incoming and outgoing SMTP connections real time. If you think something is wrong you can watch it connect to outgoing servers, and see all the commands as they happen. It's great for troubleshooting!
