We're thinking of upgrading our server to SBS 2003 R2 and using Exchange for shared contacts and calendars only. Currently our email is hosted by our ISP and all of our workstations access it via Outlook 2003. I see that I can have external email routed through the POP3 connector to and delivered to an Exchange Mailbox, but I'm not sure if it's possible, or how to facilitate the sending of external mail. Any help or thoughts on the matter would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. -- JE

Don't use a POP connector - they aren't recommended. Use Exchange for your mail, and don't mix/match account types in outlook. Your users and you will all be much happier! Host your mail directly and you will never look back. You don't even need a static IP to do this, although they're best. Try posting in microsoft.public.windows.server.sbs for SBS-specific help.
