Popup Errors in Outlook
All,

I have a single Exchange 2003 server with clients using Outlook 2003 in the
same domain with no issues. However, some of our user's machines are joined
to a remote domain which is over a VPN tunnel, but still connect Outlook to
our Exchange server. Several times during the day, these users receive popup
errors from the Outlook icon in the system tray. The error messages are
usually "Outlook is trying to receive data from the Microsoft Exchange
Server mail.domain.com". Sometimes the error message references the DCs
instead of the Exchange server. How should I troubleshoot this issue?

Thanks,
Scallica

Is there a DC/GC in that remote location? If not, this will be a problem
outside of Outlook/Exchange too - put in a DC/GC/DNS/DHCP server there & set
it up in its own AD site/subnet.

Addressing the Outlook issue specifically, I'd also have the users use
cached mode & RPC over HTTP.
