Messages with an unreachable destination
I have 2 sites connected via VPN (Central and Branch office). There is one
Exchange Server 2003 SP2 in each of the sites. Servers are in the same
routing group. When the VPN between the sites is down because of Internet
problems in Central location, I can see that server in the Branch office
cannot route messages to external e-mail accouts (gmail, yahoo etc.).
How is this Exchange server in the branch office dependent from the VPN
connection between sites in order to send external e-mail? Can someone tell
me how to set Branch office Exchange Server to send messages even when there
is no connection between sites? Should I put the servers in different routing
groups or what?

Many thanks in advance.
Stefan
