I have Exch 2003 and all XP clients running Outlook 2003. When my users open outlook outlook waits (I presume trying to authenticate to the exchange server) then pops up and says "Microsoft Exchange is unavailable" Retry work offline or cancel. Choosing Retry makes it connect. Also if I switched to cached mode it works without a problem. I have checked replication and DNS both seem to be working properly. Any help would be appreciated.

Replied in m.p exchange.clients. In the future, please don't multipost - if you need to post to multiple groups, it's best to crosspost instead, by posting a single message to a handful of relevant groups (separate the NG names with commas) so that everyone can follow the thread. Multiposting wastes everyone's time, including yours, and may lead to your actually getting *less* help rather than more. See http://www.blakjak.demon.co.uk/mul_crss.htm

I don't use or recommend the clunky CDO interface - it's far better to use a newsreader. > > "Lanwench [MVP - Exchange]" wrote: > >> Ken C wrote: >>> I have Exch 2003 and all XP clients running Outlook 2003. >>> >>> When my users open outlook outlook waits (I presume trying to >>> authenticate to the exchange server) then pops up and says >>> "Microsoft Exchange is unavailable" Retry work offline or cancel. >>> Choosing Retry makes it connect.
