I have set up NLB on two Windows 2008 servers to load balance the CAS role. I used a single NIC in multicast mode and have added a static ARP entry on the Cisco L3 switch and all appears to work well. However I get an error message every time I launch the NLB management tool saying things may not work as expected with a single NIC. Can anyone elaborate on what this error means as I can't find any detail on it? What will not work properly when using a single NIC in this scenario?

The biggest issue that you have with Multicast is that not all equipment supports multicast of non-mulicast IP addresses. The best practice, when it comes to NLB, is to have two NICs and to use unicast. Unicast will work in all environments.
