Hi I am currently looking into utilising Exchange 2007 SP1 SCR to provide recovery at our D.R site. We currently have 2 x two node Exchange 2007 SP1 clusters (MNS Quorum) running on Windows 2003 R2 with SP2. I have enabled the appropriate storage groups for SCR and this has replicated fine to the SCR server. Am I correct in saying if I recover this using the "setup /recoveryCMS" this SCR Exchange server will use a different IP address, does it use the same cluster name for Outlook clients. ie will Outlook or any Exchange application need to look to a different virtual cluster server name. Any advise would be appreciated. Is the database portability option any better. Does Windows 2008 add anything to this scenario. Many Thanks Nick Thompson
- You can use /RecoverCMS only if both the source and target are clustered. The source can be SCC/CCR. The target can also be a single node cluster - it should not have the CMS created. - Running /RecoverCMS "creates" the CMS using the CMS name of the SCR source. - Yes, it will be a different IP address. The A record of the CMS is updated to reflect that. -- Bharat Suneja MVP - Exchange www.zenprise.com NEW blog location: exchangepedia.com/blog ---------------------------------------------- "Nick" wrote in message news:ueopo3dhecjsgk6uemh9gs5vg06f2m4e84@4ax.com... > Hi > > I am currently looking into utilising Exchange 2007 SP1 SCR to provide > recovery at our D.R site. See if you can find out what the hardware actually is. If we have to reload for test, I have ISOs and keys.
