change cluster gateway
Hi,

My company has a two-node active/passive Exchange 2003 cluster and an
Exchange 2003 Server for Outlook Web Access all in the same subnet. What I
want to do is change the default gateways on the Exchange clusters but keep
the default gateway on the OWA server.

What I want to do is change the default gateway for the clustered Exchange
servers. I am thinking that I want the change the passive server's gateway
first, then the active servers gateway.

Lastly, change the virtual servers gateway? Or does it get its gateway from
the active node? I don't think that it matters because all servers are in
the same subnet, but I am going to have a different gateway on the OWA
Exchange server than I have on the cluster.

Thanks for reading,

Dustin

Hi,

As long as your IP roting works there should be no harm in changing the
default gateway. (there is no DG on the virtuel servers).

Re: change cluster gateway
Thanks - I really appreciate it; I will try it latter this week.

Re: change cluster gateway
PS - This is just a clarification. I did not mean the virtual SMTP servers,
I meant the virtual server name that I connect to. i.e: we have two servers
(101 and 102) but for outlook and configuration I connect to 10a. Sorry, I
probably used the wrong word when I said 'virtual'.

Thanks

Dustin
