I have a cluster containing two Windows 2003 servers NODE1 and NODE2. Both have Exchange 2003 SP2 installed. NODE1 is the the current owner for the Exchange Group. NODE1, NODE2 and a Domain Controller on the network are able to load Exchange System Manager and view the properties for Storage Groups and see the Transaction log locations. I then move the Exchange Group from NODE1 to NODE2 and find that only NODE2 and the Domain Controller can view the Transaction log locations in the Storage Group Properties box. NODE1 shows them grayed out and also if I try and create a new Storage Group I get an Access Denied error message. I then move the Exchange Group back to NODE1, and once again NODE1, NODE2 and the Domain Controller can view the Transaction log locations in the Storage Group Properties box and can also create Storage Groups. Why is it that i cannot view properties or create Storage Groups from NODE1 when the Exchange Group is owned by NODE2 yet I can do both from NODE2 when NODE1 is the owner? This has had me up to all hours trying to figure out. Perhaps there is an easy explanation. Regards Ian Doyle Merseyside, UK
Is this supported in a SAN? is the SAN software instaled? like HP Secure PAth? I evicted NODE1, removed Exchange and then rebuilt the box, ensuring that i logged into the domain and not local and then i added it to the cluster again, installed Exchange and it worked fine. Can only think it was a permissions problem somewhere along the line.
