Exchange 2003 and WWW service
We have a 4 node exchange 2003 cluster (3 active/1 passive). Everything
works fine except for one minor problem with the WWW service.

The WWW service is set to manual startup - I'm assuming so the cluster
service and stop / start it as needed.

When an active node becomes passive, the WWW on the passive node stops as I
think it should. THe problem comes in when MOM sends our an alert that the
WWW service is stopped.

Should WWW be set to manual or automatic startup? Is MOM cluster aware? OR
is there some tuning to be done in MOM?

ANy input would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

The World Wide Web Publishing Service should be set to Automatic.

What version of MOM are you using, cause the latest is cluster savvy.

Re: Exchange 2003 and WWW service
My support guys tell me we're running MOM 2005. My MOM operator console
shows version 5.0.2911.0.

I try setting WWW to automatic and do some fail over testing this weekend to
see how it reacts.

Thanks.
