After using forcequorum in CCR
Hello,

We had a situation where we had to use /forcequorum switch to bring up
the cluster on our active node. Passive node is currently offline at
the moment. We want to bring passive node back online. I'm assuming
that it will not join the cluster without some steps. Do we have to
bring the entire cluster down again to bring passive node oline ?
Thanks.

You should be able to just boot the server.
If you made any registry changes on the active node to force quorum,
be sure to remove those.

Re: After using forcequorum in CCR
Assuming that you are talking about Windows 2003, unfortunately you will
need to shut down the entire cluster in order to recover. When the cluster
is started using the /forcequorum flag, the other nodes will not be allowed
to join back into the cluster until the cluster service is restarted using
no flags.

This nonsense has been changed in Windows 2008 clustering, thankfully.

John

Assuming the switch to forcequorum wasnt already removed before and
the active node was rebooted.

I should add that your point is well-taken.
Thanks for the correction!
