RE: Outlook disconnects
Hello Brown,
Thank you for your post.
My name is Robbin Meng, and it is my pleasure to work with you on this
issue!
Please allow me to confirm that my understandings are correct. As I
understand it, the issue is:
A Windows Vista computer which has Outlook 2007 installed constantly lost
connection with Exchange server.
If I have misunderstood your concerns please feel free to let me know.
Before we go further, please allow me to clarify the current situation:
1. Is the issue only related to this Windows Vista computer or only related
to this particular user?
Please try to use other client computers and other users account to
determine whether it is a computer or user related issue.
2. Have you opened the firewall on the Vista computer?
If you have installed any firewall or anti-virus and anti-spam software,
please temporarily disable all of them. Also, please temporarily disable
Windows firewall as well.
3. Have you tried using Cache Mode instead of Online Mode for your Outlook
2007?
Please check if the issue persists under Outlook cached mode.
If the issue reoccurs, please test if you can resolve the IP address and
computer name of the Exchange server from that Windows Vista client. If
not, please check the network configuration of the Windows Vista machine.
In addition, please check the following articles:

to a computer that is running Exchange Server 2003: "Task reported error
0x8004011D. The server is not available"
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/939321/en-us
After we perform the above steps, if we cannot resolve the issue , please
help me collect some information for further investigation:
