sorting mail using "to:" address for mailbox with multi addresses
Hi
How would i go about preserving the "to:" information on a mail received by
a mailbox with multiple smtp addresses? we have a mailbox that has many
addresses, and we would like to be able to sort incoming mail according to
which mail address it was sent to. we are accessing the mailbox via imap,
exchange 2003, sp2.

thanks...

I don't know what your mail client is (and IMAP isn't the best way to reach
your mailbox), but you can't sort based on the SMTP address to which the
message was sent. You can look in the message headers, and may be able to
set up rules in your mail client.

Personally, when this is a major need (and it's a small office), I don't set
up the additional / alias addresses in the user's mailbox - I set them up as
distribution groups of which the user is the sole member. The display name
for the group will show up, not the user's display name, in the TO field on
the new message.
