I've been pulling my hair out trying to be able to send and receive categories (and also flags) for emails sent and received in the Exchange organization using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2007 SP1. When I send a message, it appears with it's categories in the "Sent Items" folder in Outlook, but when the message arrives the other end (even if sent to the same mailbox) the categories and flags have been stripped. I found the information about setting group policy (the AcceptCategories and SendPersonalCategories registry settings), and those are now set, but still the categories and flags are stripped. I'm wondering if there is some setting in Exchange 2007 that might be causing this information to be stripped. I don't have the edge transport role installed so I don't think any of that would be coming in to play. I'm hoping someone might have some insight in to where I can look to get to the bottom of the problem - even some general advice on how to trace how messages are changed as they make their way through Exchange would be really appreciated. -- Richard S

I think there is a default rule in OL 2007 that is called clear categories.
Thanks for the pointer, but we have already removed the rule (which is indeed there by default). -- Richard S "artie lange" wrote: > Richard S wrote: > > I've been pulling my hair out trying to be able to send and receive > > categories (and also flags) for emails sent and received in the Exchange > > organization using Outlook 2007 and Exchange 2007 SP1. Did you get a solution ? Of course, registry and rules are cleaned too. Regards Erwin
