Calendar no longer working on Mobile client
Hi,

We've had OMA with Windows mobile (5 & 6) clients working for some time. In
the last week clients have stopped synchronizing calendar items. Mail still
works normally.

Exchange 2003 in a 2003 native domain.
WM5 and WM6 clients, using GPRS push connection.
Connected via https, with a commercial certificate.
No errors appearing in the logs on server or client.
If connected via activesync and a USB cable to a PC, calendar works.
Removing/re-adding the connection shows calender 0/2... 1/2...2/2 but then
nothing appears.

I've hunted high and low for an answer, but seems to be nothing. Since most
of our users don't report problems immediately, it's hard to see any one WSUS
update having caused it.

Anyone got any clue on where/what to look for.

OMA doesn't synchronize anything; it's a very light OWA. Are you talking
about ActiveSync?

Re: Calendar no longer working on Mobile client
OK, yes, just a terminology thing.

I'm talking about a Windows Mobile (smartphone) device, connecting directly
to an Exchange 2003 FES and synchronising over GPRS. i.e. no desktop client
involvement.

Here's what I've found...

Connect the Mobile 6 phone to the Exchange server direct (normal
connection is via a FES), and calendar works fine.

Yesterday, I followed the removal of the virtual IIS directories Q
article, and tried both the adsutil method and the metabase edit method,
restarting the FES each time.

So, today reconnected via the FES, disabled calendar sync, enabled
logging, then re-enabled calendar sync. I see the ActiveSync display
note "Calendar 0/3" which changes to 3/3, but nothing appears in the
PDA's calendar.

Here's the content of the "Exchange0" file from the PDA (server name
changed): Also collected these files, don't know if they contribute
anything though:

"{long GUID}.txt"
"Ping Microsoft Exchange0.txt"
"SKZ Microsoft Exchange.txt"
"SrvrSync.fld"

As always, Mail, Contacts and tasks all synchronise fine all the time.

I'm stumped.

Re: Calendar no longer working on Mobile client
Forgot to say that sync works fine through a host-PC and a USB cable.
Appointments then disappear at the next wireless sync.
