We recently performed a transition from exchange 2000 to exchange 2007 sp1, since the transition we have been getting the error when we send/receive of: 0x8004010F An object could not be found I have had no luck resolving this error. I even deleted all OABs in exchange and set outlook send/receive option to not download the OAB and the errors persist. Currently the exchange server has no OABs listed however if you goto the public folder manager and look under system folders/offine address book the following entries are listed: /o=Gibson-Thomas/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Default Offline Address Book \NON_IPM_SUBTREE\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK /o=Gibson-Thomas/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Default Offline Address Book1 \NON_IPM_SUBTREE\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK /o=Gibson-Thomas/cn=addrlists/cn=oabs/cn=Default Offline Address List \NON_IPM_SUBTREE\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK EX:/o=Gibson-Thomas/ou=Exchange Administrative Group (FYDIBOHF23SPDLT) \NON_IPM_SUBTREE\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK EX:/o=Gibson-Thomas/ou=First Administrative Group \NON_IPM_SUBTREE\OFFLINE ADDRESS BOOK The reference to the first administrative group i assume if leftover from exchange 2000 since that was the admin group for it. I cannot delete these entries (not sure if i should anyway but it gives an error when I try) I reviewed the articles posted here in the community and the blog entries and tried the ones that applied to my situation to no avail. is this problem related to the apparent invalid entries listed in AD for the OAB system folder? would make sense to me, But i need whatever help you can manage. Thanks, Scott
You will end up having a new OAB for 2007 since this is a new site. You can create replicas from 2003 and push them to the 2007 server. http://blogs.msdn.com/dgoldman/archive/2007/05/09/after-installing-an-exchange-2007-server-in-to-a-mixed-site-the-oab-generation-fails-with-error-9342-and-outlook-clients-fail-to-download-the-oab-with-error-0x8004010f.aspx -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights. it is no longer a mixed org. the exchange 2000 (not 2003) was removed from the org. So the problem needs to be resolved from within 2007. Public folders are installs and the clients are ALL outlook 2003. I cannot find any error messages in the event logs about failed generation (however since yesterday i removed the OAB from the org so i would guess there shouldnt be any generation to do) should those entries from public folder manager be there? it would seem snce there is only a 2007 server and no OAB setup on it. there shouldnt be items listed there... could this be part of the problem? Thanks again in advance. Scott "Dgoldman [MSFT]" wrote: > You will end up having a new OAB for 2007 since this is a new site. They should be there because they were replicated, however if they are no longer needed and the active directory objects were deleted those should have been cleaned up. I am not sure why you would want to remove the OAB from the org as you need to have one and I would say that could be a big part of your problem. Make sure you have a default offline address list and default global address list. -- This posting is provided "AS IS" with no warranties, and confers no rights.
