I have been fighting a relay problem. After running Microsoft Security tool on Exchange 2003 and following its recomendations I was unable to realy to external addresses using a POP3 client. I was able to fix outlook express by adding my domain name before the username in the tab for my outgoing server requires authentication. domain\username I tried the same fix for outlook 2003 clients but I am still unable to relay for external hosts. What is the difference between outlook express and outlook 2003?
I have found the fix for this issue. For whatever reason I have to check the box for USE SECURE PASSWORD AUTHENTICATION on my outlook 2003 clients but NOT on outlook express clients. Go Figure... Oh well it works "John Sharp" wrote: > I have been fighting a relay problem. > After running Microsoft Security tool on Exchange 2003 and following its > recomendations I was unable to realy to external addresses using a POP3 > client. > > I was able to fix outlook express by adding my domain name before the > username in the tab for my outgoing server requires authentication. > > domain\username > > I tried the same fix for outlook 2003 clients but I am still unable to relay > for external hosts. > > What is the difference between outlook express and outlook 2003? > >
