I know this may sound like a strange question since Blackberry has a competing BES product but do some Blackberry phones support EAS? I am fairly certain I have someone using a pearl with activesync but I am not sure since I gave the info to the user and they say it is working. Is there someother way a blackberry could do realtime sync other than EAS? Our server has pop3 and imap4 disabled so it is either EAS or OWA? If there are Blackberry's that support EAS is there a way to determine which ones do? I have been searching for over an hour and can't really find any details. Thanks for any info or pointers.
Its BIS. Blackberry Internet Service. http://na.blackberry.com/eng/services/internet/ "Brian Hoyt" <hoytb@community.nospam> wrote in message news:eHImkjAkIHA.4868@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... >I know this may sound like a strange question since Blackberry has a >competing BES product but do some Blackberry phones support EAS? Thanks, I read over the docs and it appears to be using OWA right? Does it essentially act as a web client recieving the web push updates to alert for new mail? Yes, it hits OWA. Its not push, its pull. BIS queries the mailbox and pulls down new items. It doesn't do calendar, contacts, tasks, etc. Just email.
